There are a two main things you will need to install a rooftop tent on your vehicle.

1. Vehicle

This, I'm sure, is a given. The first thing you will obviously need is a vehicle. But what type?

Rooftop tents will fit on most vehicles but an SUV or Truck are the most common. Basically, you will need a vehicle that has a roof or bed large enough to hold the tent and strong enough to handle the weight. Most softshell rooftop tents are around 55 x 48 inches and weigh 100lbs - 180lbs. Hardshell tents are larger at 55 x 86+ inches and weigh 150lbs-220lbs.

2. A Roof Rack or Bed Rack

There are many options when it comes to roof racks. The simplest is to get a rack that is made by your vehicle manufacturer. A manufacturer's roof rack (OEM) is usually rated at 120lbs - 150lbs. This is the "Dynamic Weight Limit", which means that the vehicle can hold that much weight while drive on the road. The "Static Weight Limit" is how much it can hold while parked. If the OEM rack is not strong enough to hold your rooftop tent then you will need to get an after market rack. The main ones we provide are from Eezi-Awn, Front Runner, and CaliRaised.

Order Confirmation:

As soon as you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail. This means that we have received your order in our system and pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase.  As soon as we receive your order, we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment. We will capture the authorized payment when we place your order with the manufacturer. If your item is on back order or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail.  If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment (within 5 business days), we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment. ITEMS ARE SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER (or nearest distribution center) SO YOU GET YOUR ORDER AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

Order Shipment:

Please refer to the Shipping Lead Times section on this page for the current estimated shipping time. If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will ship within five (5) business days from the date of your order.  We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six (6) business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at orders@RoofTopWanderer.com. Shipping Lead Times:

Many of the products that we offer have various lead times. Below are the current estimated lead times before shipping. Please note that these are subject to change and we will communicate any changes or delays.

• Cali Raised LED: 5-7 business days, rock sliders 8+ weeks
• Smittybilt: 1-5 business days (call for tents)
• ARB: 1-5 business days
• Roam: 1-3 business days
• Body Armor: 1-5 business days
• Roof Top Wanderer: 1-3 business days

We work very hard to ensure that we offer the absolute best prices online.  If you find another online store that offers a lower price then us within six (6) months of your purchase date, please let us know and we will refund your original payment for the difference.  We want you to feel confident that you are getting the absolute best price for the product you are ordering.  If you find that our own website has a lower price for the same item you have ordered within six months of your purchase date will refund the difference as well.

To request your partial refund simply e-mail us a link to the same product on our website, or on our competitors website within six months from the date of your order and we will process the credit accordingly.
